If it seems like I've been talking about our upstairs bathroom reno for ages, you're not alone. While it's only been a couple of months since we began the demolition, Corey and I are both reaching the point where we want to just get it over with!
It didn't help that we took a break for pretty much all of December. We used the window as an excuse (we had to wait for a new one to be fabricated and installed) but the truth is, we both just needed a bit of a break from the constant work around this new/old house.
When I last checked in, Corey had broken through the tile on the outer wall, removed the old insulation and replaced it with new/better insulation. We also discovered an old window, which we promptly replaced.
This past week, Corey has continued to remove tile and insulation and now the room is almost completely bare.
Our next step will be the floors, which we expect to be challenging. All that tile is heavy and we're already due for another trip to the dump.
Corey's also leaving the tile above the vanity until last, because we'd like to continue to use the sink for as long as possible. At this point, thoughts of soaking in our vintage clawfoot tub and enjoying the heated floors we plan to install are keeping us going...
Corey's aiming to finish most of the demolition by the end of the month.
